Going Home | ||
When I woke up, my belly wasn't sticking out anymore, but it hurt a lot. And I had a tube stuck in me through my belly and a lot of stitches sewn across it and all the hair shaved off it where the sore was. And somebody had tied a thing around my head. Maybe I could stand the tube in my belly and maybe I could stand the stitches, but I didn't like the thing around my head. After I had been awake only a little bit, I was surprized when Mommy and Daddy came to get me. They took me out of the orphanage cage and petted me and told me I was a good boy cat and they wanted to keep me. Then they talked to the doctor about my sickness and the doctor explained that I had a hole in my belly so my belly stuck through the hole. But they had cleaned it up and sewed everything back in place. Mommy and Daddy put me back in MY carrying cage and took me home. They kept saying we were all so lucky because the orphanage people hadn't noticed my sickness before or they would have put me to sleep and Mommy would never have had a chance to fall in love with me. Daddy even said that if we hadn't decided to stay together, and if Mommy had agreed with the orphanage people to exchange me for another cat, they would have probably put me to sleep too. But I didn't care about that. I just wanted to get that thing off my head! |
