Carol Wong's life has been a strong bitter-sweet mixture. She began life in poverty, but rich in family support. She was the sixth of eight children, but the family found its good fortune because of the contributions each gave in return. She lost her father when she was 14 and was sent to work in a factory, but was able to complete her secondary education because of the kindness of her eldest brother and her own determination. Her heart was torn and broken, but she found the joy of an abiding love long after she had given up the search for romance. Through it all there has been a theme of meeting obstacles and overcoming them. Her primary strengths have always been a creative spirit and indefatigable will. | |
